GREAT UPCOMING EVENT!!!

Mark your calendars now and plan to bring your families for:

The Cleveland church of Christ’s

Spring Gospel Meeting, April 14th – 18th:

“In the Beginning, God Created…”

Featuring brother
Ben Williams of Glenpool.

Brother Ben Williams, the son of an Oklahoma gospel preacher, began preaching across the state of Oklahoma as a teenager himself.  In 2005, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Astrophysics, having emphasized studies in cosmology and related topics.  He studied as a student and then served as an instructor at the Oklahoma City School of Biblical Studies, eventually serving as the editor for the One Heart Journal produced by the school.  For three years, he taught as an adjunct instructor in Physics, Meteorology, and Astronomy for OSU-OKC and Tulsa Community College.  He has also worked with young people in religious settings as director of the Faith Week session of camp at Frog Road Christian Camp (www.frogroad.com) and serving on the camp’s board of trustees. Currently, Benjamin is the pulpit minister for the Glenpool church of Christ (www.glenpoolchurchofchrist.com) and is working toward obtaining a Master of Divinity degree from Oklahoma Christian University. Ben writes weekly articles on science, history, and faith on his internet website, www.darkcanopy.com. Alongside of him in all these efforts are of course his wonderful wife and help mate Selene, and the God-given blessing of their adorable son, Lucas. During this meeting, Ben will be teaching us how to confidently defend the faith when it comes to the concrete facts of creation versus the complete farce of evolution. Please MAKE SURE you plan now to bring your children, grandchildren, and everyone else you possibly can to learn about these scriptural, scientific, and vital truths. Sermon topics are currently scheduled as follows:

Our “Helping Hands For Christ” Ladies Craft Group’s Contributions to Local Orphanage

Our ladies’ craft group which meets Thursday afternoons at the building, actually has many good sisters who work hard throughout the week at home, producing many warm, wonderful, cuddly, cozy, practical and beautiful items for many local outlets BESIDES the items seen above which were just last night delivered to this particular orphanage (which is estimated to service some 1,400- 1,600 children a year from birth to age 18).

And the amazing thing is that some of these ladies who have been producing such beautiful and vital items, could neither knit or crochet – nor did they believe they could ever learn – just a short time ago. If you are an elder, preacher, deacon, or any member of a congregation of the Lord’s church for that matter, located within a 2 hour radius of Cleveland, some of our sisters would be more than happy to make the trip to teach their sisters there how to do this and get them started in a similar ministry, just as they had the privilege of doing for the Owasso congregation a year or two ago. Because as you can surely see, the benefits are not only for the recipients, but just imagine what it could do for some of the sisters in your congregation – and especially some of the older ones and/or widows who may feel they have no place to truly serve within the congregation. (Please take a moment and truly consider the story of benevolent and talented Tabitha in Acts 9:36-39, as well as Jesus’ instructions in Matthew 25:31ff as you consider the very real Scriptural importance and implications of this sort of Christian outreach…)

For more details on how to have the good sisters from the Cleveland church of Christ come to the congregation of the Lord’s church where you work and worship (at absolutely no cost of course) to help teach their sisters there how to get started, please click on the “Outreach” tab above, or e-mail me personally at doug.dingley@gmail.com.
